Zebeck

Zebeck

Zebeck is the musical project of Franco-Swedish guitarist/composer Thomas Frisk. Named after a three-masted Mediterranean vessel once used by corsairs, the music blends progressive rock with influences from jazz to death metal, marked by strong dynamics, playfulness, and spontaneity. The project began in southern France in 2005 and evolved through several trios. The first, formed in Malmö in 2007 with Jens Wall (bass) and Hannes Wall (drums), recorded the debut album Emancipation in 2009. After lineup changes, the album was released in 2011 with Rickard Langnesund on drums and Anders Lindskog on bass. Relocating to Stockholm in 2013, Thomas developed material for the second album. In 2015, Zebeck returned to the Mediterranean in Nice, forming a trio with Pierre Dor (drums) and Alexandre Bedetti (bass), performing live until Alexandre’s passing in 2020. Thomas continued solo, leading to the licensing of the second album Dharma with Italian label WormHoleDeath. In fall 2023, Thomas began new material, releasing the single The Opening on 18 November 2024, a dark, atmospheric track praised by PROGland for its immersive, thriller-prog sound. This single opens Zebeck’s third album Catharsis, released on 13 December 2024. Join the Zebeck Tribe as we set sail to navigate the seas of duplicity! 🚀🎸
